link-o-matic jr.
This is link-o-matic jr. Use the link-o-matic jr. to maintain a personal link log — a frequently updated list of links. The link-o-matic jr. is currently used by several sites associated with chompy.net. It is similar to del.icio.us, except that del.icio.us is better.
features
The link-o-matic jr. is not yet finished but is certainly usable.
- simple web interface
- support for multiple users
- give credit to your link sources with "via" links
- tag your links with freeform labels, and browse them using an interface suspiciously similar to flickr
- choose from two simple but versatile XHTML output templates — no need to learn a complex templating language
- output Javascript includes, for web sites that cannot use PHP or server-side includes
- syndicate your links using Atom 0.3 or RSS 2.0 feeds
- import links from another link blogging system using Atom or RSS feeds
- optional SmartyPants support
- optional posting using a bookmarklet
- optional cross-posting to your del.icio.us account, with tag support
not yet implemented
- permalinks and public archives
- trackback/pingback support (dependent on permalink support)
- Atom publication API support
- label autocomplete (not sure if I know how to do this)
known issues
- tabs optimized for Firefox, interface looks crappy on Safari and Opera
- label sizing algorithm on label list page doesn't scale well
- Atom feed items do not include correct permalink (dependent on permalink support)

- An online Joyce reading group. Sample: “In perhaps the biggest ‘wah-wah’ moment in western literature, after Dedalus’ dramatic resolution to leave Dublin at the end of <i>Portrait</i> to go to Paris to become a famous writer, we find him back in Dublin at the beginning of <i>Ulysses</i> having completely flubbed his escape, slumming in a tower with a bunch of douchebags.”
