Perhaps the most risibly stupid apologetic for the current war I’ve encountered to this point comes in the form of this brief but impressively overblown book review.
Saddam Hussein was leader of a masturbatory cult? What is that, like a circle jerk? I don’t understand. But it brings whole new meaning to this Bath Party. I never realized it was a fetish club. I wish I had a big plushy panda bear costume. I think it’s time for soda now, fools! HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME! HOOTIE-HOO!!!

well, i guess the flip answer is that you can’t make any sense of the review because it’s nonsense. the serious answer is that you can’t make any sense of the review because it’s nonsense.

i mean, really. yeah, i bet if i were to have to suffer through being and nothingness again, i’d have bush, rumsfeld, and wolfowitz on my mind. for fuck’s sake, sartre was a marxist, and vocally anti-colonialist and anti-war.
the only connection to current events i can even come up with — not to be facetious or anything — is that heidegger was a nazi.
