The next tenent will probably paint over the Kozik and the Daniel Johnston murals. Maybe they’ll move in another shop that I can’t afford to enter. The Drag could really use an Armani Exchange…

sour, sour, i’m so sour.
it would be ok if all these places from the drag were relocating, like quack’s, but instead they’re just gone. people need a place to walk around slowly, drinking coffee and shopping for records. it’s that area that gives cities a distinct feel.
i don’t want to live in a place whose distinct feeling is 6th street.

i’m moving to monterrey, known as the “austin of mexico.” the tecate brewery is there, the record store clerks are most helpful and the flea market is the most amazing thing i’ve ever seen. there’s an excellent art museum, a vegetarian traditional mexican restaurant and beautiful old buildings. yup.
or maybe i’ll go to chicago, too.

sometimes i want to move to mexico. it all depends upon the weather and the plumbing. when i went to saltillo, the weather was perfect, so i imagine it’s similar in monterrey, since they’re so close to each other. don’t know about plumbing, though.
really, i just want to live someplace new. the depressing thing is that i’ll probably wait the 3 years it takes for my 401(k) to vest so i can have some measure of financial security. i will not be poor again.
