I installed a Movable Type plugin called SmartyPants that converts the straight quotes and apostrophes that you type into typographically correct “smart” quotes. It also works on ellipses and dashes, if you like. I’m not sure if I like it, because “smart” quotes don’t necessarily display correctly on every system out there, plus it screws up leading single quotes in strings like Salt ‘N Pepa. Not to mention that you can barely tell the difference with the font that I use. But you can use it if you want. Refer to the SmartyPants web site for instructions.
In other developments, the hacking cough of the past two or so weeks has subsided, but now I seem to have a mild fever. I’m not usually this sickly, really. I think at least some of the blame has to be laid at the feet of Disney and their three-day “pleasure” cruises. And yes, the next time I see a fucking man in a Mickey Mouse suit, I will puke, but this time it will be strictly symbolic.
