Tamara left for Houston to shoot the Bad Apples, but I’m sticking around because I’m still coughing up bits of my lungs. It occurs to me that I should’ve asked her to bring back a dessert from the House of Pies, but it’s too late now.
I spent the last couple of hours tinkering with SNF and chompy. Thanks to an HTML tip that I stumbled upon, the link-o-matic and CHOMP now look much better than before, if you’re one of those freaks that still uses Netscape 4. Meanwhile, chompy.net and SNF now have URL-based searching. Typing the URL http://www.spaceshipnofuture.org/search/tony+hawk will run a search for “tony hawk” against the Movable Type archives. This was done by throwing a PHP script in the /search/ directory that catches any 404 errors and feeds anything that comes after “/search/” into the Movable Type search engine. The link and song URLs on the link-o-matic and Shoplifters, Unite work similarly, actually. Is this not the most exciting weblog ever?
Now I’ll play some Metroid because I like being a ball, and tonight I’ll cook something tasty. I think if I tire of videogames, I might read After the Quake, and see if I can yet appreciate a Murakami book.

I never forget pie. I just did not have occasion to stop and get one. However, it is the season for pies. I’ll probably be making a couple soon.
All of which is not to say that you shouldn’t bring one back from Houston, because you should.
